Vania Vaneau is one of the 21 artists invited to join the European project Life Long Burning (LLB) during 2020-2022
from the invitation of ICI – CCN de Montpellier
Several projects took place in this frame :
- support for production and touring of the solo Nebula (creation 2021)
– research laboratories
The laboratory proposed was the occasion of meeting other artists and link three groups from three cities/countries and their local nature: Leuven-BE, with Stuk ; Stockholm-SE, with MDT and Montpellier-FR with ICI-CCN and EXERCE.
Vania Vaneau shared some of her research for the solo piece NEBULA (2021) which takes place both in natural places and in theatres. The starting point for the piece is a post apocalyptical landscape, joining both pre historic practices and a futuristic projection, in the aim to find ways to reactivate life from a destroyed situation. During the two till 5 days lab, the group will work both inside and outside, relating the body with a local natural landscape, and then will be invited to create their own practices/rituals individually and as a group in that particular space. The work will be about care, transformation, land art, meetings, handcraft and activation of relations between human and non-human beings and materials.
The different experiences made during the lab were then shared with the groups of the two other cities through scores, mail art or any other form of transmission. Aiming to relate different geographical places and recreate one nature and new bodies in a changing environment.

Life Long Burning (LLB) – Creative Crossroad
LLB is a multi-annual cooperation project supported by the Creative Europe program of the European Union for a period of 4 years (1.07.2018 – 30.06.2022) and implemented by twelve European organisations. Through a series of 6 proposals / activities, this project offers lasting support to emerging but also recognized choreographic artists, and aims to stimulate exchanges with other disciplines, as well as to have a strong action towards audiences at through constructive feedback on its actions. Vania Vaneau is supported within the framework of Creative Crossroad, one of the activities of LLB, a two-year funding program, whose offers (residencies, workshops, etc.) are adapted to the needs of artists.
